1. What is DSL?
DSL stands for Digital Subscriber Line. DSL is a technology that allows the transmission of data at much faster speeds than those allowed by Local Exchange Carriers. Therefore, DSL can offer faster access and faster downloading of information from the Internet than is currently offered through Internet Service Providers that are accessed through a dial-up account (your phone lines) or ISDN lines.

2. How much faster is DSL?
With a Warp Networks contract, you receive DSL Internet access at a speed of 384 Kbps, which is seven times faster than a modem which transmits at 56Kbps, and 14 times faster than a 28K modem. Keep in mind however, that even if you have a 56K modem, you are not guaranteed that your dial-up ISP will connect you to the Internet at that speed. Your DSL line is guaranteed to provide you a connection at the speed of 384 Kbps. Plus, you can send and receive files at the same time at that same speed.

3. Are there any other advantages to DSL?
Yes! Another advantage of DSL is that you never have to dial to connect. Just turn on your computer and you're connected! DSL connects all computers on your network to the Internet. Other benefits of DSL are that you have the capability of hosting your own email and your own Web site, rather than pay an ISP to do it. DSL also gives you the opportunity to implement high-quality video conferencing. In short, DSL allows you to save time and money, and it's more convenient to use than a dial-up ISP account.

4 . What if I already have DSL?
If you already have DSL, you can keep it until your contract is up, and then switch it to Warp Networks. In the meantime, we will be happy to work out another consulting arrangement with your company.

5.Are there any other reasons why DSL is better through Warp Networks than any    other DSL provider?
Yes there are other reasons why DSL through Warp Networks is better than through another provider. With other DSL services, you may not be protected from the Internet unless you have what is called a "firewall". Other providers may charge you extra for this. With Warp Networks, this is a standard feature, so you never have to be concerned about outsiders tapping into your systems from the Internet. Warp Networks can offer you this protection through our "Virtual Private Networks", or VPN's.

6. What is a VPN and what benefits does it offer?
VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. A VPN allows two separate locations to be connected securely through the Internet. Warp Networks uses VPN's to access your systems remotely, so that we can service your systems in the event you have problems, without coming to your office.

7. Can all system problems be resolved without an on-site visit?
Serious problems may require that we come to your office to correct it, but in most cases, we can resolve the problem remotely, which means your systems will be up an running faster, and you'll be more productive. In addition, we bill in 15-minute increments for off-site support, and there are no minimum charges. So solving problems remotely also saves money.
